The End
The funeral was poignant and steeped in melancholy. Buses were charted from AC due to the sheer number of people going. A lot of the younger students in IJ uniforms (first 3 monthers at AC) were red-eyed, unable to comprehend the finality of their union.
Mrs C seemed to be quite in control, except when she had to go into the viewing gallery at the crematorium. It seemed like most people were there for her, while she was trying to make it about James, it being his funeral and all.
*sigh*
Met Mr. Smith, his wife and Mrs Ong, my form tutor who has since returned to ACJC and Kamal.
She scattered his ashes in the ocean today lamenting that James would have loved the yellow boat they were in.
Listening to the eulogies, one realized how funny, compassionate and helpful James was. He loved his GinTonics and Pasta Fresca and knew enough hokkien to shock some of the women at the stalls, especially when ordering local food.
One hopes at our time we have similar amazing people from our lives talking about us. What would you want to be remembered for?
